We started our training with John a week ago today and have found amazing improvements in our 9 month old German shepherd, his training is very simple and straight forward to understand and keep up with. It’s been amazing to be able to send him the videos of our training and within a day get a video response from John breaking down everything that was done well and everything that could use some work/ signs to look for, it’s especially nice to get feedback so quickly rather than other training methods having to wait days or even a week to find out you’re doing something wrong or what could be done better.
I have never had a dog before so I knew I needed guidance when I brought home an 8 week Sheepadoodle. I felt overwhelmed with all the info on the internet. What made it worse was there was so much conflicting advice between trainers. First 4 days at home my puppy was so calm and quiet. I thought I may have lucked out and picked a perfect dog. 🙂 Nope! Quickly she decided she was going to train me. The nipping, barking, herding, chewing on furniture and jumping began. Thank goodness I booked time with John! I just wish I had booked sooner. (when I decided to get a dog) Even though I started a bit late for a puppy (11 weeks old) I still have benefited immensely. I love John's approach of having your dogs respect and listening to your words (warm/cold) rather then just doing "tricks" for treats. (training with no treats was a mind bender!) I sat in awe watching John work with Charlie and how quickly she learned to listen with guidance on the leash. She LOVED him. In fact, each time I played John's videos she perked up to his voice. I'm still learning, but let me tell you....no more bites on my wrists or feet. (prior I was bleeding and questioning why I thought a dog was a good idea) Seven days into the training, she laid calmly in bed with me (after she slept in her crate all night) and let me snuggle. Prior weeks she was frantic, jumping all over me and biting. John's simple suggestions on how frequently to feed your pup was also a game changer for me. My pup is now calmer throughout the day with adding a 4th feeding. John provides amazing guidance on how to teach your puppy to walk before you actually start walking them around the neighborhood. I know I have lots of work ahead of me still but I feel more confident when handling Charlie. Don't hesitate booking time with John. I recommend you book time with him BEFORE buying things for your dog. It will save you money in the long run. THANK YOU John. You truly are a dog whisperer.
My wife and I are currently working with John to address some of the challenges we’ve had since rescuing our dog Nova. After one week of implementing the daily exercises, we have already been able to see a difference in her behaviour. She is paying more attention to our words and body language. She also seems to be much more at ease in day to day circumstances that would have otherwise been more difficult.
Having John come into our home for the initial consult, and then sending our videos to John got for his feedback on the training process, has been really helpful. We can see where we can improve and tweak little aspects of her daily exercises. It’s so nice to know where we, and especially Nova are getting it right and having the assurance that we’re all on the right track.
John is very knowledgeable, and the way he explains everything doesn’t make training feel overwhelming, but that it’s doable and you will be able to see results with consistency. So happy we reached out and started our training journey with John.
We asked for John’s help with our 9 month old boxer mix as she was a rescue and was having major crate anxiety. She also had other behavioural issues that we wanted his opinion and help with.
He provided us with so much information and suggestions that we are still working on daily. It is a process but he made us feel better about being first time dog owners. The video’s that we provided to John and his prompt replies were helpful and informative.
We thank you John and Pearl is quite the student, we are proud teachers!
